Millennium
Forest for Scotland Millennium Awards
In addition to the woodland restoration projects, some 300 people undertook a personal project to celebrate the millennium as part of the Millennium Forest for Scotland Millennium Award Scheme. Awards of around £3000 from the Millennium Commission were granted to individuals who put forward imaginative ideas for woodland projects that provided both personal development and community benefit. Re-establishing the social, cultural and economic links between communities and their local woodlands and |
 |
Assisting in the development of a strong network which will continue to promote and support native woodland restoration well into the future
|

The Millennium Award scheme was actively supported by the Forestry Commission and Scottish Natural Heritage.
