A group in Sunart are carrying out a major archaeological survey of the Atlantic Oakwoods in the area. Another group in South Ayrshire have excavated an old sawmill. Others are studying the use of timber in buildings, chair making and the economic benefits to be gained from community involvement in woodlands.
