Milton Community Woodland Group have established a community wood by acquisition, by purchase and lease, of 11 ha of mixed woodland on the edge of the village of Milton in Easter Ross. This long neglected woodland had suffered from vandalism, overgrown and boggy paths and rampant Giant Hogweed. Improvements to the wood include: re-structuring of the wood, phased restoration to native species and the improvement of local amenities. A network of paths and other recreation facilities has been achieved through the hard work of the local community with the children from the village primary school having played a big role in developing the potential of the wood.
