The objectives
of the existing Edinburgh Urban Forest Strategy are being delivered
in the Craigmillar area in association with the Craigmillar Initiative

Floodplain Forest |
This project
is restoring floodplain woodland and other wetland habitats along
a 5km stretch of the Ettrick and Tima Waters, the best example of

Pishwanton
Community Woodland

Pishwanton near
Gifford in East Lothian is a 24 ha area of woodland, grassland and
wetland which is to be managed to restore native woodland and other
habitats. Paths will also be established to improve access. More Info

is helping to improve an area of woodland which has suffered from
the ravages of Dutch Elm disease and invasion by non-native tree
and shrub species. More Info

This, the last
MFS woodland restoration project to be signed up, is situated in
the Border hills not far from Moffat. Borders Forest Trust, with
the help of many enthusiastic individuals, purchased a 606 ha sheep
farm and has prepared detailed plans for establishing a large native
