Cumnock & Doon Valley Native Woodlands

Cumnock and Doon Valley Initiative was set up to encourage economic regeneration in the area, and has been the lead organisation in a group which is aiming to undertake high quality environmental improvements through native and community woods. More Info

This project is establishing and bringing into management a large number of predominantly native woodlands throughout East Ayrshire.

From the north of Culzean Castle, a coastal strip of degraded woodland extends for 5km to the village of Dunure. These remnants are of considerable conservation interest and the project aims to restore a continuous strip of native coastal woodland along that stretch. More Info
